According to the Joint Commission (2020), approximately 80% of medical errors occur during shift transitions. Worryingly, 69% of these transitions lack critical medication information. This means that an inadequate transition can lead to inappropriate treatment, increased patient discomfort and suffering, and a significant increase in hospital costs.
Faced with this situation, Pedro Henrique Coelho Santoro founded DrCare in 2020. The company's mission is to develop an efficient, agile and secure passometer model that provides efficiency reports, real-time updates and data-based information. With this tool, it is possible to facilitate a more effective shift transition, reduce medical errors, and consequently improve the quality of patient care, while optimizing hospital resources.
Pedro Henrique has a medical degree and played a key role as one of the founding members of the Academic League for Health Management and Entrepreneurship at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He also participated as a student in Hackmed's Health Innovation Program, an experience that exposed him to problem-solving methodologies inspired by MIT Hacking Medicine and Harvard, aimed at identifying challenges in the healthcare market and creating viable solutions. In 2022 he was selected for DASA's Young Innovative Doctors Program and today he is one of the data analytics and management consultants for the Telestroke - DASA program.
